Teaching Assistant

The International School of Bucharest offers a British style education to students from the
age of 2 to 18. We are proud of the international nature of the school with students from over
40 nationalities. We broadly follow the English National Curriculum for English, Maths and
Science and provide specialist teaching for MFL, Music, PE and Computing.

We are looking for applicants wo are fluent in speaking, reading and writing in English. You
need to be extremely well organised and a good team player with the ability to be flexible as
well as to work independently. You need to love working with children and to be keen to
support them to make the best possible progress. A desire to contribute to the wider life of
the school is also desirable. We can offer delightful students and a friendly, committed team
of staff together with a purpose built environment.

● To assist the teacher in the day-to-day organisation and running of the classroom.
● To prepare and organise resources ︁︀​︂︃︃​︇︂​︁︃︁as required.
● To work with individuals and small groups on focused learning tasks.
● To support the development of reading by reading with individuals and groups of
children, monitoring and recording books and using a variety of strategies to
accelerate reading.
● To supervise and monitor students at lunch or arts as required break time.
● To contribute ideas to team planning sessions.
● To accompany classes on local trips.
