We are seeking an experienced and proactive Procurement Specialist with a strong background in freight forwarding, a deep understanding and an established network of local carriers. The Procurement Specialist will focus on expanding our partnerships with Romanian transport providers, securing reliable trucking services for operations within Western Europe, and driving business growth.
The ideal candidate will leverage their industry expertise to onboard reliable carriers and ensure the efficient operation of transport services across Western Europe.
Key Qualifications:
Experience:
- Proven experience in procurement, business development, sales, or operations within the transport or logistics industry.
- Strong understanding of the European transport market, especially Romanian and Bulgarian carriers.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build long-term partnerships.
- Strong market research and analysis capabilities.
- Proficiency in using TMS and Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and communication.
- Familiarity with transport requirements for standard tautliners and MEGA trucks.
- Understanding of carrier operations within Western Europe, including extended roundtrip schedules.
- Fluency in English is essential.

Carrier Acquisition and Relationship Management:
- Establish and maintain relationships with transport companies, focusing on those with standard tautliners or MEGA trucks.
- Communicate daily with local carriers to secure trucks capable of working within Western Europe for extended periods (6-8 weeks or more per roundtrip).
- Negotiate terms and conditions that align with company objectives.
- Conduct market research to identify potential carriers and trends in the transport industry.
- Analyze carrier operations, capacity, and reliability to ensure alignment with company needs.
- Cold calling to introduce the company and services.
- Asking targeted questions to understand the carrier's fleet size, routes, and capabilities.
- Presenting customized commercial offers based on the carrier’s profile.
- Follow up on initial discussions to close agreements and establish working relationships.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding of new carriers and seamless integration into operations.
- Provide regular feedback and updates on carrier performance and market conditions.
- Maintain accurate records of carrier interactions and agreements.
- Provide insights to improve strategies for partner acquisition and retention.
Reporting Line: Matrix reporting to Romanian and Baltic leadership teams
