Logistics Officer – Port Operations (English/German Speaking)

• Language Skills: Fluency in German and/or English is required to liaise with diverse stakeholders effectively.

• Relevant experience in logistics, port operations, or maritime administration.
• Familiarity with inland waterway navigation, port tariffs, and docking processes is an advantage.
• Proficiency in MS Office and logistics management tools.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed.

• Port Operations Management: Oversee and coordinate all port-related activities, including docking procedures, water supply arrangements, and ship handling logistics.
• Communication & Coordination: Act as the main point of contact between vessels, nautical crews, and port administrations, ensuring clear and efficient communication.
• Economic Port Handling:
  • Identify and secure the best docking locations for operational efficiency and passenger satisfaction.
  • Negotiate port tariffs to achieve cost-effective solutions while maintaining service quality.
  • Advocate for and implement cost-saving measures within port operations.
• Cost-Saving Culture: Encourage senior nautical crews to adopt cost-saving practices, monitor their efforts, and propose performance-based rewards for measurable results.
• Notice to Skipper Management: Ensure timely allocation of notices to skippers for vessels navigating affected areas.
• Administrative Oversight: Maintain accurate records of port calls, berth reservations, and operational requirements while managing associated documentation.
• Flexibility & On-Site Support: Be prepared to provide on-site support for port logistics to address urgent needs and ensure optimal operations.
