Finance Manager / Chief Accountant in Turda, Cluj County

As the Finance Manager/Chief Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of our company in Romania. You will lead a team of two accountants and our external service provider, ensuring compliance with local accounting regulations, Romanian and German GAAP financial reporting standards, and company policies. This role
requires strong leadership, advanced knowledge of accounting principles, and a proactive approach to managing financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of the company’s accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Romanian and German GAAP and local regulations.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accountants
• Coordinate and manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Managing the external service provider
• Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with local tax regulations.
• Monitor and improve internal controls and financial processes to minimize risks and ensure operational efficiency.
• Work closely with Romanian management and headquarter to provide financial insights and contribute to strategic decision-making
• Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and other regulatory bodies as needed.
• Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry best practices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, ACCA, or other professional accounting qualifications are a plus.

• At least 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of Romanian accounting and tax regulations, German GAAP is a benefit.
• Proven experience in financial reporting and financial analysis.
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and MS
• Office Suite.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Fluent in English and Romanian
