Civil structural engineer - junior/debutant

EDUCATION: Higher education: University - Bachelor degree (Master degree is a plus) in Structural and Civil Engineering.

PREVIOUS WORKING EXPERIENCE:
Minimum experience in similar positions in engineering companies.
Desire to learn and acquire working experience in design of industrial structures for piping and layout sector, specifically in iron making plants, water & gas treatment, Oil & Gas.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Familiar with main international design code for steel structure and civil works (at least Eurocodes, familiarity with other standards is a plus).
- Basic knowledge to develop structural calculation model and calculation report.
- Basic knowledge with engineering technical aspects of steel structures and civil work projects.

TOOLS (not fully mandatory):
- Basic knowledge of one Structural Calculation programs: SAP2000, STAADPRO, or similar.
- Basic knowledge of Autocad 2D and 3D
- Basic knowledge or willingness to learn modeling and detailing using one of the 3D steel tools: Tekla, Advance Steel.

OTHER SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Team player, high motivation, positive, can-do attitude, flexibility.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment, collaborating with piping, mechanical electrical and other discipline engineers.
- Highly effective communication skills with stakeholders & suppliers.
- Fluent in English language. Italian and German languages are a plus.
- Manages time and priorities effectively.
- Works well under pressure – managing internal customer expectations, time constraints etc.
- Self-starter – initiates search for new ideas and continuous improvement. Ability to coordinate internal/external teams.
- Available for international business trips.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Individual responsibilities will be established based on personal expertise, in order to perform the following activities:
- Learn ︁︀​︂︃︃​︉︆​︆︄and develop structural calculation model and calculation report.
- Learn and develop preliminary and detailed engineering drawings for steel structures, reinforced concrete structures, and foundations.
- Learn and develop 3D model of steel structures, reinforced concrete structures.
- Adjust and improve the calculation model, drawings and 3D models based on checks by others.
- Learn and participate in management and follow up of external engineering supplies:
- Learn and participate to perform purchase technical specification for engineering activities.
- Learn and participate in collecting input data for detail engineering executions.
- Learn and participate in follow up of order, quality and time schedule control.
- Learn and participate in checking/vetting of external DE based on BE or technical data input.
- Learn and participate in management for all engineering technical aspect of common steel structures supply order:
- Learn and participate in performing purchase technical specification (including QAP).
- Learn and participate to follow up of order (engineering aspect only).
- Learn and participate to check and control of documentations (i.e. shop drawings, detailed BOQ, packing list etc.).
- Learn and participate in the management for all engineering technical aspect of civil work order.
- Learn and participate in performing technical specification for execution civil works (including QAP).
- Learn and participate to follow up of civil site activities (engineering aspect only).
- Learn and participate to check and control of documentations (i.e. formwork and reinforcement drawings, detailed bar bending schedule etc.).
