Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Audio Engineer with a solid background in live or broadcast environments to join our growing production team. The ideal candidate will manage and optimize audio across multiple simultaneous setups, each with its own audio, video, and lighting setup. In addition to daily mixing and troubleshooting, this role requires strong technical acumen in digital audio systems, acoustics, and basic electronics/hardware maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Daily Audio Operations
- Operate digital audio consoles and processors (e.g., Midas, A&H, Waves, Fourier Audio) to ensure clear, high-quality sound.
- Manage microphones (e.g., Dynamic, Shotgun, Contact), DI signals, and other input sources.
- Maintain loudness standards and ensure proper level alignment.
2. Studio Collaboration & Setup
- Work closely with AV and lighting departments to design and implement new studio setups.
- Provide acoustics expertise for optimal studio layout and sound treatment.
- Configure and optimize audio systems to match production and broadcast needs.
- Adjust basic video parameters such as color temperature, polarization filters, and lighting alignment for consistent on-camera presentation.
3. Technical Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Monitor audio equipment for potential issues and quickly implement alternative solutions to minimize downtime.
- Diagnose and repair technical faults on equipment and systems.
- Assemble, disassemble, test, troubleshoot, and repair computers/hardware used in audio and broadcast workflows.
- Conduct soldering work and component replacement on printed circuit boards, following specifications.
4. Systems & Software
- Install and configure operating systems (Windows, Linux) on audio workstations and other broadcast-related hardware.
- Set up peripheral devices and drivers such as monitors, scanners, and expansion boards.
- Ensure proper integration and function of audio-over-IP systems (SoundGrid, Dante), external processing servers, and relevant plugins.
5. Broadcast & Control Room Knowledge
- Understand the core workflows of a television control room and how audio integrates with video/production operations.
- Occasionally operate or assist with video cameras, particularly when audio and video tasks overlap.
- Maintain broadcast standards for loudness, clarity, and overall production quality.6. Travel & Remote Studio SetupTravel to new studio locations abroad to manage audio system installations and configurations.
- Ensure studios are designed with proper acoustic treatments and system reliability.7. Continuous ImprovementStay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in broadcast audio engineering.
- Demonstrate eagerness to learn new technical skills and adapt to evolving production demands.
Required Qualifications
- 2-5 years in a live broadcast, studio, or similar audio engineering role.
- Audio engineering degree or equivalent technical certification preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in digital audio consoles, external processing servers (Waves, Fourier Audio), and signal routing protocols (AES3, SoundGrid, Dante).
- Strong understanding of loudness metering, level alignment, and broadcast standards.
- Basic knowledge of video workflows, including color temperature (ISO adjustments) and the use of filters
- Basic knowledge of AC/DC circuitry, the use of multimeters, and other test equipment.
- Familiarity with installing, configuring, and troubleshooting computer operating systems (Windows, Linux).
- Ability to install, solder, and repair components on printed circuit boards.
- Capable of designing or advising on studio layout, soundproofing, and acoustic treatments.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly identify and resolve audio, hardware, and system malfunctions under pressure.
- Effective communication skills for working with AV, lighting, and production teams.Nice to have:

- Familiarity with video camera operation, particularly in a studio control room context.
- Any relevant certifications (e.g., Dante Level certifications, Waves certifications, etc.)
