Working Conditions: work is performed both in office environments, outdoors, and will occasionally be performed at dangerous work areas (including but not limited to airside territories of airports, hangars, maintenance warehouses, on board of aircrafts, IT server rooms …). Employee may occasionally for shorter periods be exposed to chemicals/hazardous substances (toner ink, aviation fuel and other fluids), working in front of a monitor, loud noise, heat, cold, vibration, slips, trips and falls, electricity, sharp objects, machines at work.
Substitution: can substitute Network Development Managers, Network Planning Managers. Can be substituted by other Network Development Managers, Network Planning Managers.

Purpose of the position:
The Network Planning Manager reports to the Head of Network Development. The role’s responsibility is to maximize the airline’s profitability by effectively managing capacity of Wizz Air’s existing route network, proactively capturing trends in demand, competition, cost and market-specific events. The Network Planning Manager also has responsibility to expand the network on his/her assigned markets through new routes, strategic planning and seasonal loadings, and shall create various analyses and business recommendations to management. The manager needs to also deliver monthly capacity plan updates to stakeholder departments, thereby contributing to an efficient business planning cycle.
Responsibilities:
- Maximize profitability by optimizing capacity, weekly frequencies and schedule, ensuring the right product is offered to the market
- Managing capacity on a portfolio of routes comprising several countries and bases
- Deliver monthly capacity plan updates to stakeholders and management
- Assessing new markets based on strategic fit, financial performance and growth potential
- Recommending new routes and bases to add to the network, developing related financial forecasts
- Building and maintaining financial evaluation tools as required
- Work closely together Network, Revenue Forecasting, Revenue Management, Scheduling, Controlling and Airport Development teams to ensure cross-functional alignment of network planning decisions.
- Assessing competition in terms of strategic plans, capacity changes, strengths / weaknesses and recommending actions based on the risks and opportunities
- Assessing and interpreting market, economic and industry trends and the impact on route choice
- Managing the airport cost mix to ensure it does not exceed budgeted costs
- Work closely with Government Affairs department on regulatory affairs of the network.
- To be successful in the role the manager needs to continuously look for improvements and developments in the current tools and processes of the Network area, therefore an innovative and process-driven mindset is essential.
